Our client, a company that sells, rents and provides after-sales services for Heavy Duty Equipment and
Electrical Power Generators, is seeking to recruit an energetic person to fill the post of Power Systems
Manager.

The Role

The Power Systems Manager will be responsible for the sales and after sales support for generator sets and
Power Systems across the Caribbean and report to the General Manager based in Barbados.

The Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Identifying and managing opportunities for the Sale of Electrical Power Generators and Rentals.
  • Providing guidance and input into the sales planning/budgeting process for the department.
  • Advising and providing input on new product introductions (rental or sales) into the market.
  • Ensuring proper after-sales support is provided on the maintenance of Electrical Power Generators.
  • Leading and coaching, including schedule for the Power Systems Department.
  • Identifying power demand needs to size solutions for domestic, commercial and industrial
    projects i.e. for new and existing customers.
  • Performing equipment inspections and advising customers on parts and service required and
    leveraging on these sales leads.
  • Liaising with customers and sales representatives, to ensure all leads are actioned and quotations
    provided.
  • Conducting quality assurance inspections on equipment and signoff prior to delivery to
    customers, ensuring work is completed within the agreed timelines and is of high quality.
  • Liaising with other departments to provide maintenance updates on after-sales support and
    updating the customers on status.
  • Amending and approving all quotations, sales contracts and related paperwork prior to
    dissemination to potential customer.
  • Providing weekly reports on sales leads including opportunities for future sales within product support
    and reporting on actions taken.
  •  Ensuring customer service delivery is of high quality and continue to build relationships with the
    customers as well as the dealer support representatives.
  • Reporting on competitive activity observed in the market, with regards to parts sales, service and
    machine information.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate must:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering and a minimum of two years’ experience
    in a similar post or an Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering and at least five years’ similar
    experience.
  • Have experience in selling Power Generation systems.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and possess a willingness to learn the various computerised tools.
    Experience using manufacturing related software would be a plus.
  • Have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to negotiate and influence others.
  • Be flexible and able to travel for projects within the Caribbean.
